Harp in the Mountains Summer Festival
A one-week harp camp for harpists 13-20 years old
The 2017 Festival will be held July 23 – 29, 2017 at Krislund Conference Center in Madisonburg, PA, in the beautiful mountains of central Pennsylvania, 20 miles east of State College. The recreational camp atmosphere and the intense harp study combine into a great harp experience for dedicated junior high, high school and college-age students. With a focus on learning together, campers work on technique and musicianship, while they play, practice and perform solo and in ensemble. PLUS hiking, swimming, campfires and special events.
Our theme for 2017 is “Let’s Dance.”
Your toes will be tapping ( or they would be if you didn’t have to push the pedals!) as we learn music from folk dances to ballet, including the famous Waltz of the Flowers cadenza.
The harp playing is fun, the music has lots of energy and the friends are fantastic!
REGISTER NOW using the form on this page! Campers are encouraged to reserve early as places are limited.
NEWS! The Festival this year will be held again this year at Krislund Camp. Resurrection Lodge at Krislund Camp is fully air-conditioned, with a large rehearsal space and modern bunk rooms and baths.
Total fees for the Festival are $765.00, and include tuition, meals, and deluxe cabin accommodations. Pay in full now, or by the early bird deadline of March 1, and pay only $665.00. A $100 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your place. The deposit will be deducted from the final balance.
Campers will need to bring their own harp to the Festival. A few rental harps are available; please email to find out availability. No audition is required, although campers are advised that they will be doing a lot of harp playing!
